. Im Deutschen würde mein Text etwa so lauten sollen:

Sehr geehrter Herr Ebers,
..?

Ist das so okay? Ist der Brief anmaßend? Sollten andre Fragen gestellt werden? Wird er überhaupt auf so etwas antworten? Sollte ich den Text kürzen?

Hallo Herr Weihe,

Ich war leider heute Abend recht beschäftigt und konnte ihren Text nur grob übersetzen:

Dear Mr. Ebers,

I am a German neurologist who has spent a lifetime of research on the natural course of MS (without DMT Treatment). My impression has always been that publications in neurology journals tended to portray patient impairment over time due to MS progression as more significant than it actually was. Publishing such views over the years has led me to frequent run-ins with the German MS Society (DMSG).

This is why I was very happy to have recently come across your open letter to the EMA in 2013. I must confess that I had never heard of it up to now, although it was written already 6 years ago.

I was very impressed how someone so familiar with MS research and clinical studies as you could express your legitimate concerns in such a well-founded way. By making your arguments available to the German MS community, I would like to ensure that the DMSG can no longer continue to authoritatively assert that its guidelines for prescription of DMT by German neurologists can be considered a “gold standard” for treatment of newly diagnosed.

Moreover, I am personally convinced that the DMSG guidelines in their current form urgently need to be revised and that Neurologists in the German Neurology Society writing these guidelines must be financially independent of the pharmaceutical industry.

I would therefore like to take this opportunity to ask you the following questions:

- Do you think that on a general level, the usage of CRAB DMT for both the newly diagnosed as well as patients with advanced forms has had an overall negative influence on MS pathology over the past decades?
- Do you think that more aggressive Therapies such as Tysabri or Ocrelizumab are a promising option to treat MS?
- Would you agree with SJ Pittock, who found in the Olmstedt County study that MS worsens naturally (i.e untreated) by an average of 1.0 EDSS points every 10 years?

I would be very happy to hear your point of view concerning these questions and to know if it would be o.k. for me to relay your concerns from 2013 to the German MS community.

Best regards,
...

Gutes Gelingen..
